The Local Economy Institute is a non-profit working to build a bridge to the next economy through economic localization.
We base our work on the principles of Local Living Economies, the work of Michael Shuman (Shumanomics) and Stacy Mitchell of the Institute for Local Self-Reliance. Our work aims to help communities rebuild strong, vibrant local economies -- particularly small communities or rural geographic regions. Our work includes:

The Local Economy Institute is a fiscally-sponsored project of Community Ventures, a 501(c)3 organization. Grants, donations, and sponsorships to support the work of the Local Economy Institute will be directed to an established fund at Community Ventures.
